Rachel Van Dyken

Since I first picked up one of Rachel Van Dyken's books I was a fan. I thought since I have read a good portion of them that she needed her own page for my reviews. I am in the process now of transferring and re-writing my reviews and putting them up here. So check back ever so often.
There are still many of her books that I haven't read but believe me they are on my TBR (to be read) list. I find myself NOT so patiently waiting for her next book to come out.
She has a fantastic way of capturing real emotions and making you want to stay up way past your bed time for just one more chapter. Yeah, Right one more chapter.  One chapter would turn into to 3,4, maybe 5 more. I would read until my poor eyes got dry and heavy. I'm sure if you pick up one of her books your will feel the same.

**These books are in no way in order of the way that I have read them.**

THE BET SERIES:

The Bet (The Bet, #1)The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was yet another great read by Rachel Van Dyken.
This is a story about Kacey, Jake her best friend, and Travis her nemesis from child hood. When Jake needs to show his Grandma Nadine that he has change his playboy ways so he could control the family business, he asks a favor from his best friend Kacey. To pretend that they were getting married for "grandmas" sake. Kace would do anything for that sweet grandma. After seeing Travis again and his smile having a big effect on her, she is more confused then ever! I mean he used to taunt and make fun of her, and now still teasing her something has changed between them.
This love triangle one of the best ones I have ever read. It is such a great book! I definitely recommend this one!!

The Wager (The Bet, #2)The Wager by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had been waiting for this book to release for what seemed like years, it wasn't, but after finishing "The Bet" (book 1 in the series) I just couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I stayed up until midnight October 1st for it to come onto my kindle, yeah I was that excited to start it.
After I got started on this book and getting a dose of the ever so sassy spitfire Grandma Nadine, I just couldn't stop reading it. Granted this book isn't Grandma Nadine's story, its Jake and Char's but Grandma plays a huge roll in the hilariousness that goes on.
Jake's a selfish playboy millionaire and Char is a sassy TV reporter from Jake's past and also his best friend Kacey's friend. Char had a crush on Jake, but after an incident at camp, Char wrote Jake off. Then after another incident between them, she really "hated" him. Now that they meet again for Travis and Kacey's wedding, there is a lot of awkwardness between them. When Grandma Nadine tries to meddle in their life what could happen?
Grab this book because you will love all of Grandma Nadine's "trickery" that she pulls on everyone in this book!
This is just another great read by this wonderful author!

SEASIDE SERIES:

Tear (Seaside, #1)Tear by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book of the "seaside" series. I bought it because it was only .99 cents for my kindle. I have purchased  other books for that price and was disappointed in the writing, so I really didn't expect much. I had never heard of Rachel Van Dyken and decided that I would try her book out. Besides for that price its ok if I was disappointed, Right?  Well I was wrong to think that!!! I loved the book and the characters. I couldn't stop reading it.
In this book you meet Natalee (Nat), a high school who's board and ready to leave her sleepy town, when brothers Alec and Demetri from the band AD2 start going to her school. So much for this year going by much the same as it had in the past. Which boy will she choose?
Definitely grab this book and read it, you will love it.

Pull (Seaside, #2)Pull by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book of the "seaside" series. After reading the first book in this series, I just couldn't wait to start this one. This book focuses mainly on Demetri one of the brothers from the band AD2.
nearly killing himself in an accident his record company just wants him to lay low and focus on his addictions. You will also meet Alyssa who is beautiful, smart, and also broken in her own way. Someone Demetri should avoid. Can these to broken souls heal each other or is it too much for both of them to handle?
I love this book, well I love the entire series so check them out. You won't be disappointed!!!

Shatter (Seaside, #3)Shatter by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book of the "seaside" series. After reading the first two books in this series, I was anticipating the release of  "Shatter". I bought it the second it became live on amazon. I had high expectations for this book, well I was not disappointed. It was a great read full of roller coaster emotions!
This book focuses on Alec, the other brother from the band AD2. When Alec's past comes back to haunt him, whats he to do? Will he fall back into his old ways of drug use to hide, or will he step up and be the man everyone knows he can be?

This entire series was fantastic! You should definitely pick them up. You will fall in love with the Daniels brothers and their fun and exciting lives, like I did.

Forever: A Seaside Novella by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received the ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) of Forever: A Seaside Novella from the author for my honest review. Well I love Rachel Van Dykens writing so I had high expectations, and knew I wouldn't be let down.

I wasn't, I loved this novella, it was a perfect taste into what we can expect for "Fall", Jaymenson's story!"

I love the Daniel brothers and even though Jaymeson is a giant man whore, I'm starting to love him too!

If you have read the "Seaside Series" you will love this little bonus before "Fall" is released. Its got the wedding and so much more.

RUIN:

RuinRuin by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I got this book because I am big Rachel Van Dyken fan. Well lets just say this book was no disappointment to me. In this book you get to know Weston, a popular quarterback who seems to have it all, and Kiersten a shy sheltered college freshman. When these to have an accidental encounter both lives change. You can tell by the emotions in this book that Rachel put her heart and soul into this story of these two "Ruin"ed people. This is a must read, it gives hope even when all things feel hopeless. I will most definitely be reading this book over and over as well as recommending it to everyone I can.

EAGLE ELITE SERIES:

Elite by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, where to start. Hmm ok, When I first started reading this book I really wasn't sure what to think. I'm not a huge Mob fan. I don't usually watch the shows, watch the movies, or even read that type of book, but I love Rachel Van Dyken's Writing so I gave it a shot. For those who don't know this book is about a girl who wins the annual Eagle Elite College Scholarship lottery, which turns the world she knew upside down.

I was not disappointed in this read at all. Though as of right now I don't have a favorite "team" if you will, weather it be "team Chase" or "team Nixon" The story was great and really captured me and kept me wanting more. I cannot wait for her next book in this series to come out.

EVERYGIRL DOES IT:

Every Girl Does It by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I fell in love with Rachel Van Dykens writing with "Tear (a seaside novel)", so when I saw this book with her name on it I just had to read it. It was .99 cents so I didn't mind spending that just to see if I'd like it. Well it was another good read by her. I had a hard time putting it down. As with all of Rachel's books I recommend this book too.
Its about a woman named Amanda who in high school turned Preston's prom invitation in front of the entire school. OUCH!
8 years later, they see each other again. Preston can't help but to tease her, but with Amanda sarcastic wit it becomes more.
Such a fun adventurous book!!
